ArtBeat - End of Spring Season 2013

We had the last ArtBeat of the season. We closed with an amazing performance featuring John McEuen with Alpin Hong.  Acclaimed multi-instrumentalist John McEuen and Julliard-trained and award winning pianist Alpin Hong share the stage as two generations apart come together, weaving their way through tradition and culture.

And, as usual. We are featuring two great crafters that were part of the last event of the season. Their items are amazing and that's why we want to introduce them to you!

First, we have Twanna. Let's meet her.

Tell us a bit about your self.
My name is Twanna Davis and I'm the owner and creator of Diva Desert Locs, LLC. I'm married with two children, a boy and a girl.

Apart from creating things, what do you do?
I'm a Zumba instructor and a blogger. Check out my blog at rocking your natural hair with style. You can also find me on YouTube

Where does your inspiration comes from?
My inspiration comes from my daughter who has severe eczema. When she was a baby none of the store products worked for her so I learned how to make my own products to care for her skin.

My husband, he is the one who encouraged me to open my business.

Next we have Jennifer, one of the creative minds behind Periwinkle Girls. Let's meet Jenn!
